The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a postdoctoral researcher.
This position will be funded by the European Union (ERC Advanced Grant 101097684-Excited).

ICIQ is looking for a postdoctoral researcher to work in the group of Prof. Emilio Palomares. The successful candidate will work on the development of new materials for energy conversion and CO2 reduction.
Responsibilities
Design and synthesis of catalysts for the reduction of CO2.
Design and synthesis of photoactive materials for solar cells.
Characterization of the structural and optoelectronic properties of the novel materials by standard techniques such as X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical reduction, gas chromatography, UV-vis and fluorescent spectroscopy etc.
Contribute to the design of novel PV+EC systems.
Writing technical reports and drafts and manuscripts for publication.
Presentations of the results in conferences, technical meetings and workshops.
Requirements
PhD in chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science or related fields.
Demonstrable experience in the preparation of catalyst for CO2 reduction AND photoactive materials for solar cells is mandatory.
Familiarity with the techniques for structural and optoelectronic characterization mentioned above.
Valued qualities
Ability to work in a team environment.
Experience in supervising early-stage researchers.

A full-time 3-year contract.

Remuneration aligned with the company’s salary policy, within the 28.560€ (PIIP1) - 36.720€ (PIIP4) based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

Selection Process
ICIQ’s selection process usually entails the following phases:
Pre-selection: The pre-selection process will be based on qualifications and expertise as reflected on the candidates’ CVs. This phase is merit-based.
Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.
Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is selected, the People Unit will extend a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary and overall job conditions.
