The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Prof. Emilio Palomares’ research group. This position will be funded by the project ELECTROVOLT with reference PID2022-139866NB-I00 from the Spanish Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación.

ICIQ is looking for a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the group of Prof. Emilio Palomares. The successful candidate will work on the development of new materials for the catalytic reduction of CO₂ and their integration into PV + EC systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and synthesis of catalyst for the electroreduction of CO₂.
• Characterization of the structural and electrocatalytic properties of the novel materials by standard techniques such as X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, cyclic voltammetry, electrochemical reduction, gas chromatography etc.
• Contribute to the design of novel PV+EC systems.
• Writing technical reports and drafts and manuscripts for publication.
• Presentations of the results in conferences, technical meetings and workshops of the project.

Requirements

• PhD in chemistry, electrochemistry, materials science or related fields.
• Demonstrable experience in the preparation of catalyst for CO₂ reduction is mandatory.
• Familiarity with the techniques for structural characterization and electrochemistry.
• Ability to work in a team environment

Selection Process
