The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work Prof. JR Galán-Mascaros’ group. This position will be funded by the European Project ERC Synergy MAGNESIS.

Project Description:

ICIQ is looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the group of Prof. JR Galán-Mascarós. The candidate will carry out materials synthesis, processing and electrochemical experiments under magnetic fields.

Responsibilities

• Synthesis and processing of electroactive materials.

• Electrochemical characterization of materials.

• Electrocatalytic characterisation under magnetic fields.

• Writing reports and participate in data exchange and collaboration with the partners in the ERC SyG grant MAGNESIS.

Requirements

• The candidates must have a PhD in Chemistry or equivalent at the time that the contract is initiated.

• Experience in electrochemistry, materials synthesis and characterization.

• Strong expertise in OER/ORR: performance and product analysis.

• Ability to cooperate with experimental teams.

• Ability to present the results of research in scientific journals and in international congresses and also to non-scientific audience is a must.

• Proven excellent knowledge of English.

• S/He should be motivated, open-minded, highly dynamic and capable of working independently as well as in a team.

• Demonstrated experience in reporting and publishing research results in top scientific journals.

• A full-time contract for 3 years.

• Incorporation: as soon as possible, subject to completion of the selection and administrative process.

Selection Process

ICIQ’s selection process usually entails the following phases:

• Interview: Preselected candidates will be interviewed by the Hiring Manager of the position and the appointed Selection Committee.

• Offer Letter: Once the successful candidate is selected, the People Unit will extend a Job Offer, specifying the start day, salary and overall job conditions.
