IVORI MASTER FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMME 2026

The IVORI Master Fellowship Program offered by The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is aimed at female university graduates from Latin America (Spanish-speaking countries and Brazil), to support their enrolment in the URV/ICIQ Master’s program, and to follow a research project in the area of chemistry or closely related field that ultimately leads to the completion of a Master’s Degree.
The IVORI Master Program will be administered in English.
These grants are directed to highly qualified and talented female graduate students with a passion for chemistry research or closely related areas. The students will have the opportunity to join one of ICIQ’s research groups and will follow an individual master research project under the direction of a group leader.
Selected female students will be awarded a grant to complete their master’s research project at the ICIQ in one academic year.
I. Application Process
The entire application process will be completed online. The call opens on January 26th, 2026, and it closes on March 1st, 2026. Applicants must submit their application through ICIQ’s Careers portal. Applications sent by email will not be accepted.
After completing the personal data fields, applicants must attach in a PDF file the following documents:
Scanned copy of the BSc diploma and academic transcript. The academic transcript must include the final/average grade, the complete grading scale used by the corresponding university of origin, the ranges associated with that scale, and the minimum passing grade.
Curriculum Vitae, specifying the completed degree and other relevant professional experience, especially in research, if applicable.
Applicants must be proficient in written and oral communication in English. Finalist candidates will be interviewed to assess their English competency.
Please note that documents sent as hard copies will not be processed. For academic records not issued in Catalan, Spanish or English, a certified translation from other languages must be provided.
Only one application per person will be considered. In case of multiple applications, only the first application received will be considered.
Once the application has been successfully completed, an acknowledgement e-mail will be automatically sent. Candidates must ensure that all information is included before the deadline. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
II. Eligibility and Evaluation Criteria
The program is open to female graduate students of any nationality from Latin America (Spanish-speaking countries and Brazil) that fulfil the following eligibility criteria:
Hold a University Degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering or closely related disciplines that must be completed by the time of enrolment in the master’s program.
When in doubt regarding the eligibility criteria, applicants should contact the ICIQ HR Department at positions@iciq.es prior to the submission of an application.
Candidates who fulfil the eligibility criteria will be evaluated according to the following evaluation criteria:
Curriculum vitae.
Academic record.
Two recommendation letters.
Personal interview for short-listed candidates.
III. Evaluation and Selection Process
The evaluation and final selection of the candidates will be performed by the project director and supported by the HR Department, following this procedure:
Submitted applications will be checked for eligibility and those not fulfilling all the criteria will be rejected. It will not be possible to modify the application or to add missing documentation after the call is closed (March 1st, 2026).
The selection will be merit-based according to the evaluation criteria described in Section II.
At the late stages of the selection process, short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview.
The call deadline will be March 1st, 2026. The name of the awardees will be published on ICIQ’s website. All applicants will be notified of the selection outcome by May 15th, 2026.
The ICIQ will only consider female applicants but will not discriminate on the basis of age, ethnic or social origin, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, or disability.
The name of the awardees will be posted in the Institutional Information and Organization - ICIQ page in ICIQ’s website.
IV. Grant Conditions
1. Awardees will receive a scholarship to help with their living expenses during the academic year as shown below:
1.200€ net from the beginning of the scholarship program until December 31st, 2026.
1.200€ gross from January 1st, 2027, until the conclusion of the scholarship program.
2. The IVORI Master program enrolment costs will be covered by ICIQ.
3. On acceptance of the grants, awardees must submit a copy of the enrolment document to a Master Program.
4. The beneficiary will sign a scholarship acceptance with ICIQ.
V. Incompatibilities
The Scholarship is incompatible with any other grant with the same purpose.
