The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Prof. Emilio Palomares’ research group. This position will be funded by the PHOTORED (Photocatalytic reduction of CO2 by green hydrogen, PLEC2021-007831) project.

ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Prof. Emilio Palomares’ research group on the project Photored. This project aims at developing materials to promote selective CO2 hydrogenation with solar light. The reactions will be promoted by solar light as the sole or primary energy source using appropriate photocatalysts developed in the project. The photocatalytic CO2 hydrogenations will be carried out under continuous flow. The green hydrogen required in the process will be obtained by water electrolysis.
The researcher will be responsible for the development of hybrid porous materials for the capture of CO2 and their characterization of their structural properties. The researcher will assist as well in the characterization of the properties of materials with photocatalytic properties. The researcher will deliver internal reports and write manuscripts based on the experimental results. His/her participation in national and international proposals is also encouraged.
The applicants must have at least 2 years of experience as postdoctoral researcher in the area of organic/hybrid (porous) molecular materials and characterization of structural and optical properties of materials.
Solid experience on photoactive devices.
Expertise in porous materials.
Expert in solution process and characterization of hybrid materials.
Background in optical and structural characterization, and use of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC).
Capacity for teamwork.
A temporary full-time employment contract linked to the project Photored.
Remuneration according to individual’s qualifications/experience.
Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.
