The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Prof. Emilio Palomares’ research group. This position will be funded by the ERC Advanced EXCITED.
ICIQ is committed to performing excellent research at the frontier of knowledge in the broad area of chemistry (Catalysis, Artificial Photosynthesis, Activation of Small Molecules, Photovoltaics, Functional Molecular Assemblies and Chemical Biology, from either theoretical or experimental perspectives). ICIQ is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in Prof. Emilio Palomares’ research group on the spectroscopic characterization of molecule and devices in the femtosecond timescale. This project is funded by the ERC Advanced Grant “Engineering Excited States, Orbital Coupling and Quantum Coherence Phenomena in Photoelectrochemical Energy Conversion Devices” (EXCITED).
Responsibilities
- Characterization of molecules in solution and solid state by spectroscopic techniques
- Writing technical reports and drafts for submission as papers about the obtained results.
- Presentations of the results in conferences and technical meetings
Requirements
- PhD in Chemistry
- At least 4 years of experience in femtosecond laser transient and fluorescence emission lifetime spectroscopy.
Valued qualities
- Knowledge on 2D femtosecond spectroscopy will be also valuable.

We offer
- A temporary 3-year full-time employment contract.
- Remuneration according to individual’s qualifications/experience.
- Annual salary split in twelve monthly payments.
